Sunday,The Do Over will be getting into the Halloween spirit with The Boo Over a no-cover, costume mandatory good time at 1611 N. El Centro in Hollywood

Also going on Sunday is what can only be described as pure genius...the Thrillist sponsored Co-ed Halloween Dodgeball Tournament...

The movies are coming back to Hollywood Forever Cemetary for a special Halloween screening of The Shining...gates are at 5:30pm and the movie starts at 7:00 pm...tickets are $10, that's less than most movie theatres and a small price to pay to see the sexiest man ever on the big screen in the middle of a cemetary on Halloween..

Finally, as I'm sure you all know there's always the West Hollywood Carnaval..make sure to bring a flask and some comfy shoes if you decide to brave the crowds..and maybe a taser..kissses Audrey

this weeks guilty pleasures..

Although I have had the Beatles in heavy rotation lately.. every song reminds me of being a little girl and my dad singing 'i wanna hold your hand' and 'help' constantly.. I do love my pop-rock tunes.  I got a chance to check out the The Spill Canvas last week, and love love love them!  I want to pinch the singers chubby cheeks.  I suggest you check them out like now-ish.  Here is their vid for 'staplegunned' wuv wuv wuv.

Also while I was in Portland, I got a chance to check out Jonezetta along with Family Force 5 who were easily the most ridiculous band I've ever seen.. but also one of the most interesting.  They were some sort of bizarre mix of rock/rap/glam metal.  For sure an entertaining live show.  If you wanna hear what all the hype is about they are playing the knitting factory on hollywood tomorrow night.  Check them out!

Hello people.  I am back to lovely smog-town USA otherwise known as Los Angeles.  I spent a long weekend in Portland, OR.. which is easily  the most beautiful lil city I've ever been to.  The trees.. the foliage.. the vegan friendly restaurants EVERYWHERE.. the beautiful lounges.. the clean streets.. the amazing art galleries.. the perfect for picnics parks.. the inexpensive drinks.. the music inclination.. LOVED IT. Now i'm back to 75 degree weather... the palm trees.. the homeless.. the dirty streets.. the douchebags...ermm.. wait.. i can't complain ;).  Me and Audrey just may be ORfabulous soon.. umm  that doesn't have a ring  does it?  wompers.

Why?

Because tonight is as good a night as any to head downtown. I am officially over Thursday nights in Hollywood (for now anyways) and will be heading out tonight downtown with my favorite San Diegan refugee. San Diegan is a word right? The itinerary is as follows....

La Cita on Thursday is quite the experience, or so I've been told. I'll be on hand to experience all of the chaotic dancing, Shepard Fairey-sighting, and Dewars White Label one girl can handle ($3 drink special until midnight...lovely) If it sounds like your bag, work yor way waaaaay east of La Brea to 336 S. Hill Street.

Also going down in that wonderful universe they call downtown is the Bohemian Society fashion show afterparty featuring Pink Enemy...I could tell you the details but why bother when you can read them below...catch ya on the flip side...kissses Audrey

 

screw you santa ana winds!!

Has anyone elses allergies flaired up like crazy in the past few days?  Maybe its a cold, maybe its allergies, however I woke up this morning feeling like I got ran over by a bus.  Not just your average bus, one of the extra long Metro's that look like enormous bendy straws.  So please excuse any errors or if this doesn't make much sense.. my eyes are too watery to see straight.

Due to my state of health.. I will not be hitting the town tonight.. and remember thursdays are lame anyhow?  Well if you are feeling like taking a risk and moving from the couch.. one of my favorite local bands, The Ringers, are starting thier thursday night residency at the Viper Room.  They are one fun crazy band to watch fo sho.... the singer wears very very very tight pants... did I lure you in? 

Just go cuz I said so. :)
