Chris Paul might know the answer to this. At the age of twenty-four Chris decided to head west. Lots of people pack up and leave their anonymous small towns for Hollywood life. Most of these people aren't blowing off full rides to law school. They also don't have the luck, charm, and determination of Chris Paul. Just like every other twenty something who arrived in L.A. with a box full of shit and a couple of leads on craigslist, Chris found a job waiting tables.
Despite the good looks, Chris wasn't an actor when he first got here and he still isn't. Chris started out gigging around L.A. as the singer for a hardcore band by the name of Pure, but it was partying not singing that jump started his career. While living in Sherman Oaks with actor Ashton Holmes , Chris and Ashton developed a reputation for throwing parties packed with beautiful young people. One of those people was actor Shane West who soon became one of Chris's best friends. It wasn't long before Chris was a man on the scene. LA Promoter Kevin Todd was astonished by how many young hot people Chris and his roomates were bringing to their parties and asked him to tag along as a promoter for 'Sideways'. When Todd realized Sideways wasn't the right place for him, Saturday nights were all Chris's. Shortly thereafter it was THE place to be.
Soon our young Chris found himself in a strange predicament. By night he was hanging out with the A-list, by day he was serving them grilled salmon. That didn't last too long. If you know L.A. then you know that Paris Hilton stayed in jail longer than most "it" lounges stay open. After Sideways, DJ Zen got Chris a gig co-promoting at Parc, which soon became the playground of young Hollywood. Needless to say, no more waiting tables for Chris.
Don't go thinking you're cool now..because Chris has already moved
on. Recently he threw the biggest party of his career, Shane West's
birthday party at Ritual (pics can be viewed here). If you weren't there you missed a celeb
packed crowd rocking out to The Shy's . Next up is Thursday nights at the
illustrious Sky Bar, and fridays at the not yet open Opera (1650 Shrader)... which is sure to be the hotspot for the summer! If your looking for a more intimate setting make sure you check out his new Monday nights at Crimson, which is attached to Opera.
The best part about this guy? All this partying and brushing elbows with Lindsey Lohan is just his "day job." Chris is busy banging out scripts and working along on a novel...hmm I hope its a juicy one about all the dirt he's seen.
Stay tuned for more people we know and you should.
